Parkway provides worship services, educational classes, fellowship gatherings, and opportunities to serve others in the larger community. None of this would happen without the voluntary efforts of our members. Whether it is a relatively simple task such as ushering for Sunday’s worship service or much more involved, like organizing a group of people for a mission trip, everyone can share his/her gift at Parkway.
If you have not already done so, please complete Parkway’s time and talent survey (link) and submit. The Member Care committee assists members in finding their best opportunities for meaningful service.
Service opportunities include:
Sara was a member of the church (now deceased) who worked in the foster care system. She saw the need for children to receive a gift on birthdays. Parkway continues Sara’s ministry as volunteers buy and wrap an age-appropriate gift for a child. The names and ages of children are given to the church monthly through the Department of Protective Services.
Parkway members fill food baskets for special holidays through the year, including Christmas, Easter, July 4th, and Thanksgiving. The baskets are provided to families identified by The Purple Door.
The food pantry is available to student at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Members of Parkway drop off dry food at the church that is then taken to the TAMUCC campus
A variety of twelve-step recovery groups meet throughout the week on the Parkway campus. Groups include: Alcoholics Anonymous, Al Anon, Narcotics Anonymous, and St. Augustine. Call the church office for times and meeting places.
